Education and Training provides counseling services on military academic planning, community colleges, tuition assistance, GI Bill, commissioning programs, certifications, military correspondence courses, vocational training, veteran's educational benefits, testing and professional military education, and foreign languages.
Educational and training counseling is offered to all military personnel. To schedule an appointment call (210) 221-1907 or send an email to usaf.jbsa.502-abw.mbx.502-fss-fsd@mail.mil.
All exams must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance and seating is limited.
Army
All college reps are located at the Army Education Center.
Air Force
The Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC) allows AF personnel access to their education record, tuition assistance, CCAF Progress Report, request CCAF Transcripts and access other information on educational programs available.
WBU NTC
The Wayland Baptist University's National Test Center offers CLEP and DSST exams for college credit and also proctors exams from other universities for a fee. Testing Schedule: Mondays & Fridays at 8am and noon. Appointments must be scheduled online.
Base Training
The Base Training Manager is the OPR for all Air Force Enlisted Training issues and is responsible for administering the Career Development Course (CDC) Exams.
Course Exam Schedule: Wednesdays, 7:30am-3:30pm. Advanced registration required.
Military Testing
In addition to CDC testing, Air Force Professional Development Course (PDC) exams are also administered. This includes Course 14, SOC, ACSC, and AWC examinations; the Defense Language Proficiency Tests (DLPT) and Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB); Air Force Classification Test (AFCT), and Air Force Officer Qualification Test (AFOQT).
Course Exam Schedule: PDC - Wednesdays, 7:30am-3:30pm;
DLPT & DLAB - Thursdays, 7:30am-3:30pm; all other exams are scheduled on an as-needed basis. Advanced registration required.
Civilian Training
Civilian Training is the OPR for all Air Force Appropriated Civilian Training programs on JBSA-Fort Sam Houston. Requests for training are reviewed and approved or disapproved according to statutory, legal and administrative requirements, regardless of funding source.
